Since I was a little girl, I've been enamored with beautiful clothing from the past. I spent hours of my young life soaking up films filled with glorious costume, which inspired and influenced my personal style. At the age of 8, my grandmother taught me how to thread a needle and sew a seam, and with these basic skills I set off on my journey to create beautiful things.

In high school, my fashion sense was out of the ordinary and required me to make do with what I could find. I began to find pieces at thrift stores and garage sales and altering them to suit my style, all sewn by hand. At 19 I bought my first sewing machine and began making garments from repurposed fabrics and vintage elements, always with a flare for the unusual and dramatic.

Years later, I relocated to west Michigan and was introduced to the wonderful world of estate sales. I began to find amazing vintage and antique clothing I never thought possible, and an obsession was born. The inspiration and awe I found in these treasures was immeasurable and I began a massive collection. To take a long forgotton garment and repair it, clean it, make it shine again and show it to the world brings me great joy.

Although, not all have survived the ages so gracefully, and in these cases, I salvage what I can and breathe new life into the old and discarded, always with the utmost respect for the original garment and always with a distinctive style that sets the wearer apart from the crowd. Each piece is unique and cannot be duplicated, created with one of a kind, lucky finds I have discovered in my obsessive treasure hunting.

In addition to sewing and design, I became enraptured with the art of ribbon embroidery and taught myself how to create framed artworks and accessories with this delicate handiwork.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting my site and hope I can share my passion with you. All my creations and curations come from a place of joy and pride, and I believe it shows. Handmade Creations

Creating one of a kind pieces of clothing and accessories is truly my passion and has been a cornerstone of my life for years. Being unique and standing out from the crowd is essential to me! I addition to making out of the ordinary things, it has been important to have a care for the materials I use and strive to reuse and repurpose elements I have discovered. Because of this, there may be small imperfections or flaws in the materials. These are never serious enough to detract from the whole, on the contrary, these add to the unique quality of the garment. There may be spots, tiny holes, or other flaws associated with age. In addition, to further customise a design, I will dye fabric, trim or lace, which may rarely result in spotting, uneven color, or mottling. Please keep this in mind when deciding to purchase and email me with any questions at elisa@morganafae.com.

Vintage and Antique Clothing

Vintage clothing has had a long and in most cases, mysterious life. It may have hung in a closet for 60 years or it may have passed from place to place. As is such, I cannot guarantee what environment it has been kept in and may have been exposed to smoke, animals, dust and mold, ect. My items are sourced from estate sales, private sellers, antique stores, and auctions. Some items may need to be cleaned or may have flaws. All imperfections will be stated in the item description. It is extremely rare to find a piece that is in perfect condition. All vintage clothing should be worn with care as it may be delicate, and no returns are accepted. I do not use any kind of standard sizing and measurements are taken with the item laying flat and measured from side seam to side seam. Length measurement is taken from either the top of the strap in the case of items with straps or the center back from the neck. Arm length is measured from the top shoulder seam. Please ask all questions and address all concerns before purchasing by emailing me at elisa@morganafae.com.
